Life, design and making from the Notswolds
At Chelsea Barracks Spring Fair 2026, Notswolds presents a new mood emerging from the British countryside, where heritage craft and contemporary design are reshaping country living.
THE MAKERS
Six Counties. One extraordinary region.
AN EMERGING REGION
Elegant country houses, lively market towns and working landscapes shape a part of the country where heritage and modern life sit comfortably side by side. Across Rutland and the surrounding counties, a growing community of makers, designers and craftspeople are bringing new energy to that tradition.
Rooted in the countryside yet unmistakably contemporary, the Notswolds is beginning to emerge as one of Britain’s most exciting creative regions.

The Chapel Lantern is a collaboration between celebrated lighting designer Maxwell Barlow Lighting and Notswolds, taking its cue from the Georgian buildings that define much of the Notswolds landscape.
Drawing on the proportion and restraint of the period, the Chapel Lantern is a structured, architectural light suited to both traditional and modern interiors.
Handmade in the Notswolds, each lantern is shaped by traditional metalworking techniques, with a hand-beaten top and carefully worked frame. Finished with an opal glass shade that gives a soft, even light, it is available in a range of finishes.
Shown in Antique Brass finish.
Created for Notswolds, Adam Dant brings his singular eye for place, character and tradition to a map of England’s overlooked heartland. Part cartography, part social history and part affectionate satire, the work charts the towns, trades, landscapes and peculiarities that give the region its identity.
With his richly detailed, hand-drawn panoramas of British life,, Dant has filled the map with local stories, historic references and the makers, landmarks and rituals that still shape the everyday here. A piece to study slowly and return to often, it offers a spirited portrait of a region too often passed over, and a record of the good work and distinct culture found within it.

Oakleaf is a richly layered all-over pattern that brings warmth, rhythm and quiet character to a room.
Drawn from a historic design in the Bruce Fine Papers archive, the original was discovered pasted to the back of a picture frame and is thought to date from the 18th or 19th century. Carefully restored, it is now reissued using traditional hand block printing, preserving the softness, depth and irregular beauty of the original.
With its scrolling leaf forms and balanced repeat, Oakleaf feels both decorative and enduring, equally at home in a country house, townhouse or more contemporary interior.
Minimum order quantity 2 rolls.
