THE NOTSWOLDS CALENDAR
2026
The Notswolds Calendar is a curated guide to what's on in Rutland and neighbouring Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, and Cambridgeshire. From festivals, seasonal markets and fairs to workshops, supper clubs, sporting challenges and family days out, it brings together standout dates and regular happenings at some of our favourite venues, making it easier for you to plan your time in this corner of the countryside.
-

JANUARY
January starts gently, with the month closing on RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch events, an evening at Gladwell & Patterson with Burghley House curator Jon Culverhouse, and Burns Night celebrations.
-

FEBRUARY
Defined by light and long horizons. The pale limestone seam that shapes England’s most handsome buildings and villages starts here, and working fields still feed the country.
Here, England’s food and architecture trace their origins beneath the land. -

MARCH
Its position near London yet deep in the countryside filled Northamptonshire with country houses. Carefully arranged estate villages, farming and fine English shoemaking grew around them. A landscape shaped by thoughtful gardens and craftsmanship.
