Uppingham Fat Stock Day

Each year Uppingham Fatstock Show transforms the market square into a temporary showground for one of the region’s long standing agricultural traditions.
The show marks the start of the town’s festive preparations. Farmers, breeders and local families come together to present and judge cattle, sheep and pigs. Local butchers and buyers secure prize stock for the busy Christmas season, with many animals destined for the Notswold’s finest restaurants as part of the region’s farm to fork culture.Uppingham, Rutland

Burghley Christmas Fair

Step into the magic of the Burghley Christmas Fair, where the courtyards and grounds come alive with sparkling lights and festively adorned chalets. Discover artisan gifts, handmade decorations, and seasonal treats, from mulled wine and hot chocolate to raclette and crêpes. Rutland Night 10k
5-7 November 2026
Rutland Night10k takes you around Rutland Water after dark, starting and finishing at the iconic Normanton Church, beautifully lit and visible across the route. Three evenings of running and walking - Thursday for walkers, Friday and Saturday for runners - on traffic‑free paths illuminated by subtle lights. Open to all abilities, it’s a chance to move, glow, and soak up the night atmosphere.

Tunnel Vision Night and Dawn Runs
5-6 November 2026
Everyone Active Tunnel Vision is a five-mile out-and-back run through the Oxendon Tunnel, raced once at night and again at dawn. The 422m long old railway tunnel is lit for the event with subtle mood lighting, though a headtorch is still needed. Run through and back again, with the dawn edition ending at sunrise.
