WOOL MAT WEAVING with Beccy Fowler Woolcraft | Sunday 21 June 2026

£65.00

SUNDAY 21 JUNE 2026 | 10am - 12.30pm

An introduction to weaving on a peg loom through the making of your own woven wool mat, a decorative piece of character and texture.

Led by Beccy Fowler, this workshop follows the journey from fleece to finished piece, with a demonstration of carding and an introduction to the character of different wools. You will dress the loom, weave your mat and finish the edges by hand.

Beccy’s practice is rooted in a close relationship with material, shaped by her own path from keeping sheep to working with wool in its rawest form.

About Beccy Fowler

Beccy Fowler describes herself as a creative, shaped by a varied career across design, conservation and making. She studied graphic design before training as a sculpture conservator in London, working alongside stonemasons and developing skills in stone carving and sculpture.

Alongside her own practice, she spent nearly twenty years in a primary school, supporting children with special educational needs and running art and craft clubs.

Her move into wool craft came by chance, beginning with a small flock of sheep and a curiosity about the fleece they produced. She now spins, weaves and felts from raw wool, working directly with the material and maintaining a close connection to the traditions of cottage industry.
