Hand-turned in Leicestershire, the sculptural Ziggy totem lamp is crafted from beech and hand-painted in a custom finish. Natural variations in the timber, turning and hand-applied finish give each lamp base its own individual character. We apply a light layer of protective natural oil to each raw base.

BRITISH CRAFTSMANSHIP

British craftsmanship has always been shaped as much by new ideas as by inherited skills. The most interesting pieces bring the two together: good design, an understanding of materials and the knowledge of how to make something exceptionally well.

Maro Home Studio works in exactly this way, designing contemporary pieces and working directly with skilled independent makers to bring them into being. The Ziggy lamp is hand-turned from beech in Leicestershire, its bold, totemic form made possible by the precision and experience of the woodturner.

For us, it represents an important part of British making today: traditional skills not simply preserved, but put to work in creating something new.

    Founded by Meg Holloway, the studio champions craftsmanship and thoughtful materials, partnering with family-run furniture makers in Long Eaton and independent artisans in Leicestershire to bring each idea to life with tactility, longevity and character at its heart. 

  • Each piece is finished to order, please allow 2 weeks for production.

  • Standard Delivery Charge: £5.95.

    Many of our pieces are sent directly from the makers themselves. If your order includes pieces from more than one maker, they may arrive separately, at no additional delivery cost.
