Divided into two compartments with a balanced flat handle, it is finished with considered details including traditional corner joinery and a French nail securing the handle.
Compact enough to keep close at hand, it is made for the smaller things you use often, bringing a little order and giving everyday objects a place of their own. Cutlery and napkins, pencils and paintbrushes, sewing things, seed packets, string and secateurs. A place for whatever you like to have within reach.

A beautifully crafted flower press, handmade in solid English oak and designed to be used again and again.
Substantially made, weighing around 2.5kg, the solid oak boards are smooth and flat internally, with British-made brass fittings providing even pressure as flowers and foliage dry.
Supplied with six layers of traditional blotting paper and recycled card, ready to fill with finds from the garden, hedgerow or meadow.

BRITISH CRAFTSMANSHIP
Wood has shaped British homes for centuries. Grown in our landscape, worked by generations of craftspeople and used to make everything from the most ordinary household objects to our finest furniture, it sits at the heart of a long tradition of making.
For us, that tradition feels particularly relevant today. Working with responsibly sourced timber, making locally and allowing the natural character of the material to inform the finished piece offers an alternative to mass production: fewer miles, fewer unnecessary processes and objects made with a real understanding of where they have come from.
Flavell Trading embodies much of what we value about this approach. From their workshop in Rutland, Peter and Jo Flavell make useful, beautifully considered objects for the home, working by hand and letting the grain, colour and character of the wood lead the way.

A 1970s chestnut chair, reimagined for a new generation by Northamptonshire furniture makers Summerfield + Scott.
The original frame has been carefully restored and finished with linseed oil, then given a new hand-woven rush seat and backrest. The rush is harvested locally, prepared and woven by hand in their workshop using techniques with deep roots in this part of Northamptonshire.
There’s something particularly good about the meeting of old and new here: a reclaimed mid-century frame, a centuries-old local craft and a chair that feels entirely at home in a contemporary interior.
Each is individually finished, allowing the grain of the chestnut and natural variations in the rush to remain part of its character.

This unique hand poured soy wax candle uses quality fragrances and essential oils for a clean burn. Their unique wide cotton wick creates a broad flame, generating a great scent throw and an even pool of wax.

Originally commissioned for the British Antique Dealers’ Show, the Rutland Shelves are a contemporary take on a traditional piece of English furniture.
Made in fumed oak, decoratively shaped shelves are held between uprights featuring traditional cotton-reel turning. The fuming deepens the natural colour of the oak and brings out the character of its grain, while the distinctive silhouette gives the piece a more playful, decorative presence.
Made in England by JC+CO, the shelves bring together accomplished furniture making, a deep understanding of wood and a willingness to play with the traditions of the craft.
A contemporary take on the traditional milking stool, made in solid hardwood with a hand-woven rush seat by Summerfield + Scott in Northamptonshire.
Small in stature but surprisingly useful, its pared-back timber frame is topped with rush harvested and prepared by hand, then woven in the workshop using traditional techniques. Each stool is made individually, with variations in the timber grain, colour and rush weave giving every piece its own character.
Designed to move around the house and find its own purpose — beside the bath, next to a bed, as a footstool or a seat for smaller members of the household. A familiar piece of country furniture, reconsidered for the contemporary home.
