British craftsmanship
Each paper is produced in Lincolnshire using a process that has remained largely unchanged since the 16th century. One of only a handful of workshops still working this way, Bruce Fine Papers began in 1994 with Alex Bruce. 30 years later, Alex is still at the forefront of the company, working in partnership with his wife Naomi, and alongside their children Ellie and Jake.
Hand block printing was first used for wallpaper by early British printmakers in the 16th Century, it’s possibly one of the earliest printing techniques in the world, and today, whilst Hand Block Printed Wallpaper may be on the Red List of Endangered Crafts, we believe it is important to keep this traditional craft and true quality of printed wallpaper alive.

No claims for faulty wallpapers can be made after the wallpapers have been cut or hung. Notswolds cannot accept returns of unused rolls. We recommend ordering one additional roll to cover future repairs or under the quoting quantity required. Part of a wider collaboration with Bruce Fine Papers, the collection presents traditional patterns reworked in a palette inspired by the landscape and architecture of the Notswolds.
Each paper is produced in Lincolnshire using a hand block printing process that has remained largely unchanged since the 16th century. Bruce Fine Papers is one of only a handful of workshops still working in this way. Founded in 1994 by Alex Bruce, the family business is now led by Alex and Naomi Bruce, alongside their children Ellie and Jake.

All of our wallpaper is handmade to order, as such delivery times are not guaranteed and may be subject to minor changes, of which you will be immediately informed.
If you need to cancel your order before dispatch, please contact us as soon as possible, as all cancellations to wallpaper orders will incur a 25% charge if production has already started.
No claims for faulty wallpaper can be made once the wallpaper has been cut or hung. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, please contact us and we will put things right as quickly as possible.
We are not able to offer any returns for handmade wallpaper.

Inspired by the repeating geometric patterns of domino papers, small printed sheets used across Europe in the 18th century to line walls, cupboards, drawers and boxes, Malton Diamond reimagines one of wallpaper’s earliest decorative forms for the modern interior.
Drawn from material kindly donated to the Bruce Fine Papers archive by the Legard family of Scampston Hall, Malton Diamond translates the sense of rhythm and order of domino papers into a refined diamond motif that brings texture, depth and charm to a room.
The original motif was donated to the Bruce Fine Papers archive and has been reworked as part of our wider collaboration, presented in a palette inspired by the Notswolds. Soft chalked blues, greens and earth pigments drawn from the surrounding landscape and architecture.
