DOLLY, THE WIRE HAIRED FOX TERRIER
There’s something about Dolly. A mix of confidence and charm that makes her hard to overlook. Dolly comes to work with Sophie and takes her role seriously, although “seriously” is relative when you’re a five-year-old wire haired fox terrier with the presence of someone who knows she’s in charge.
Most days, she’s behind the desk at the Claire Langley showroom in Halliday’s Yard, keeping quiet watch while Sophie manages projects for Claire Langley Antiques. Together, they’re a small but spirited duo, bringing character and warmth to the rhythm of the showroom. Sophie moved from London to Stamford seven years ago, where she found Dolly. These days, they’re rarely apart, whether walking through the meadows and Burghley or stopping by the Bull and Swan for doggy ice cream.
Tell us about Dolly
Dolly is a 5 year old wire haired fox terrier. When we collected her as a puppy, she was just so small and cute and smelt like a hamster. It was love at first sight
What’s your dog’s favourite walk?
She loves the meadows and Burghley.
How well trained is Dolly?
The short answer? She’s a terrier!
Where will we usually find your dog?
By my side at home and at work!
What are your recommendations for dog friendly places to go?
Dolly likes to hang out at the Bull and Swan in Stamford and have doggy ice cream.
What’s your dog’s quirkiest trait?
Thinking she’s part human.
What’s your dog’s toxic trait?
Thinking she’s part human!
Where does your dog sleep?
She used to sleep downstairs in her own bed, but seems to have managed an upgrade to my bed in recent times!!
Is she a dog or best friend?
She is a dog but also my little best friend ❤️
Together, Sophie and Dolly keep things running smoothly at Claire Langley Antiques, Sophie managing the projects and Dolly keeping watch from behind the desk.
